The Capitol Horror is accepting submissions for our debut standalone anthology devoted entirely to domestic horror. We are looking for short fiction that finds the monster in the mundane, the dread at the dinner table, the rot beneath the foundation.

About the Anthology

Home Bodies: A Capitol Horror Anthology is scheduled for Summer 2026 publication and will be available in print paperback, hardcover, and ebook through capitalhorror.com and select retailers. Authors whose work is not selected will receive a $5 discount code toward the purchase of Home Bodies when it is released.

What we're looking for

Original, voice-forward, character-driven horror rooted in domestic spaces and relationships. Fiction that treats horror as a lens, not a decoration. We are drawn to psychological horror, body horror grounded in intimacy, the violence of caregiving, marriages as haunted spaces, inheritance, and the terror of the ordinary.

Maximum length: 6,000 words. No minimum.
